Summer School

Work Permits
Complete details and forms are available on the District Work Permit Website. Work permit processing locations shift depending on the date:

May 30, 2026 – August 7, 2026: All work permits (including those for home-schooled students) are processed centrally by the district office Educational Services staff.

After August 7, 2026, Individual high schools will resume processing work permits.
Nutrition Services
Students who are not enrolled in summer school may visit the California Department of Education Summer Meal Service Sites page to search for local community locations where children can receive free, nutritious meals during the summer vacation. These program sites are open to all children in the community.
SUN Bucks (Federal Summer EBT)
The Federal Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer program, known as SUN Bucks, provides $40 a month per child for three months to help cover food costs while school is out of session.

Automatic Enrollment: Families who already receive CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal benefits will automatically receive SUN Bucks; no application is required.

Application Required: Families not signed up for these programs must submit a Free/Reduced Price Meal Application to the Nutrition Services Department to establish eligibility for these benefits.
Plus Box
The non-profit organization Plus Box provides nutrition education and helps address food insecurity concerns for students and families, serving over 700 local households in the area.Free/Reduced Price Meal Application (FRPM)
Households may apply for the FRPM program online at any time during the school year. Current eligibility expires on September 21, 2026, and a new application will be required for the upcoming school year. Applications for the 2026–27 school year will become available after July 1, 2026.

Technology Assistance
Most technical questions regarding district-issued devices and accounts can be resolved by visiting the centralized SDUHSD Tech Hub.
High School Academy Enrollment
High School Selection is officially closed for the 2026-27 school year. Students must enroll in their residential boundary high school, even if an Interest List is available. Those interested in Canyon Crest Academy (CCA) or San Dieguito Academy (SDA) may refer to the High School Selection Webpage for updated information and interest list status.
New Student Summer Pre-Enrollment
Student registration is managed through the Aeries Online Enrollment platform. Families should begin the process by submitting their information online; however, enrollment is not considered official until it is finalized by school personnel following a successful submission. Once an application has been processed, families will receive an email from their school outlining the next steps and any additional requirements.
For families requiring additional assistance or those unable to access the online system, physical enrollment packets are available for pickup at boundary schools, where staff can address broad inquiries regarding the enrollment process. Intradistrict Transfers
The Intradistrict Transfer Application Window is closed for the 2026–27 school year. Please refer to the SDUHSD Intradistrict Webpage for current information.
Student Transcript & Records Requests
Unofficial records and transcripts may be viewed directly through the student or parent Aeries Portal account. Official records and transcripts must be requested directly from the Middle School Secretary or High School Registrar.
Student Grades
For questions regarding grades, families must follow up directly with the specific teacher and school site. Please note that teaching staff are unavailable during the summer break.
ACT/SAT Fee Waivers and Accommodations
Requests for exam fee waivers and testing accommodations are processed at the student's high school site by the designated Testing Coordinator.
Independent Study PE (ISPE)
ISPE applications are closed for the 2026–27 school year. For questions, families may contact the Assistant Principal who oversees the ISPE program at their respective school site.
Concurrent Summer Off-Campus Courses
Families can learn more by visiting the SDUHSD Off-Campus Course Page. Off-Campus Course (OCP) forms and concurrent K-12 college enrollment forms can be processed by school counselors on-site during summer school operational days.
