Summer School
The district is pleased to be able to offer targeted summer school programs for grade 7-12 students each year. Summer school includes opportunities for remediation, acceleration, credit recovery, and enrichment. Offerings vary based on an annual assessment of student needs. Programs may be in-person on a campus or offered via independent study online.

Because summer courses cover extensive instructional content in a relatively short time period, students may not miss more than 8 hours of instruction; 8 hours equates to two full days of summer school. Students will be dropped upon the 9th hour of absence, including being tardy more than 15 minutes counting as the 9th hour. - Board Policy 6177

Summer School 2024 transportation to La Costa Canyon High School will only be available to the students that currently attend the following schools:
- Pacific Trails Middle School
- Carmel Valley Middle School
- Canyon Crest Academy
- Torrey Pines High School
- La Costa Canyon High School (Newcomer students only)
Deadline to complete application: May 17, 2024.
Summer School Route 1 (one bus) – Canyon Crest Academy and Torrey Pines HS – High School students only. Select this option if your student attends either of these schools. Middle school students from surrounding area will not be permitted to ride on this bus.
Summer School Route 2 (one bus) – Pacific Trails MS and Carmel Valley MS – Middle School students only. Select this option if your student attends either of these schools. High School students from surrounding area will not be permitted to ride on this bus.
Summer School Route 3 (one bus) – Earl Warren MS (TPHS students only), San Dieguito Academy (LCC Newcomer student only) and Via Terrassa bus stop location (LCC Newcomer student only) – High School students only. Select this option if your student attends the schools mentioned in “Summer School Route 3” only. No other students will be permitted to ride.
