Julie Bronstein

Term of Office 2021 - 2022 (Special Election)

Trustee Julie Bronstein was given the Oath of Office to the SDUHSD Board of Trustees on November 18, 2021 after being elected as the Area 5 Trustee in a 2021 special election.
 
Julie is an experienced non-profit leader, education advocate, and mother of two current SDUHSD students and one proud SDUHSD graduate. 
 
A graduate of Scripps College with a master’s degree in Public Administration, Julie has spent the past three decades working in non-profit organizations focused on health, education and community improvement. Julie currently serves as the Executive Director of Development at UC San Diego, where she manages the Health Board of Advisors and oversees fundraising in Health Sciences, and as a volunteer Advisor and Educator for Autism Tree Project Foundation, where she works with the parents of children on the autism spectrum. Julie previously served as the Executive Director of the La Jolla Community Foundation (an affiliate of The San Diego Foundation).
 
Julie’s experience working with SDUHSD schools includes serving as V.P. of Development on the board of the Canyon Crest Academy (CCA) Foundation, as the parent representative for the CCA COVID Safety Process and as a WASC Accreditation Process Community Focus Group member for CCA in the 2018 - 2019 academic year. Julie is a collaborative problem solver who will focus on ensuring that all students within SDUHSD have access to an excellent education in a supportive environment.
 
Julie grew up in San Diego. She and her husband George (originally from Lima, Peru) have lived in Carmel Valley with their children for the past 16 years.
