About the Superintendent

For over 20 years, Ms. Lynch has served in a variety of roles bringing educational team members together to find collaborative solutions to optimize student learning and build relationships. As a district community resident, she has worked side-by-side with fellow parents as a member of the Executive Board of a 14-school district consortium, the board of a state-funded vocational training nonprofit, the PTA Board and other organizations dedicated to students and those who support them. She has been recognized with awards of excellence for her work on behalf of families and a Congressional Order of Merit.

She began her journey in education as an appointed member of a commission to serve the Mayor of Los Angeles to address school violence. She also served as part of an education leadership team in Philadelphia to solve issues facing underfunded schools and underserved students, as well as on the Board of a Philadelphia organization that supported local public schools by providing vocational training and instruction in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math. After moving to California, she co-found a company that created award-winning digital tools and parallel curriculum to support districts and schools in the U.S., Canada and Singapore.

In 2018, she co-found a local nonprofit Beacons, Inc., a postsecondary vocational training nonprofit to provide vocational training and other services to diverse learners. Ms. Lynch has  created curriculum in a wide variety of subjects and also taught subjects ranging from graphic design to leadership, secured grant funding to obtain technology to support underserved communities, and secured state funding to ensure that vocational training was accessible to San Diego County residents. Ms. Lynch has appeared before legislative committees and presented before state councils to raise awareness of educational issues affecting students and district funding.

Ms. Lynch also served as a Chief of Staff for a Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice, where she was responsible for devising case tracking logs, helping to develop the state’s rules of evidence, and recruiting and training attorneys. She also handled high profile cases as a trial attorney representing copyright issues related to the James Bond film series and complex international fraud claims.

Ms. Lynch looks forward to teaming with SDUHSD staff, parents and students to engage in positive and collaborative discussions to support all students.
