This course explores the behavior of living things, but focuses on the individual behavior of man. The student investigates methods of psychological study, the formation of personality and attitudes, principals of learning, the functioning of the brain, influences on behavior, mental health and illnesses and individual behavior in the family group and other relationships.

AP Psychology is designed to introduce students to the systematic and scientific study of the behavior and mental processes of human beings and other animals. Students are exposed to the psychological facts, principles, and phenomena associated with the major sub fields within psychology. The course stresses critical thinking, reading, and writing within the context of scientific methodology and questioning.
