Melisse Mossy, Trustee

Term of Office 2018 - 2022

Trustee Melisse Mossy is a USC graduate who moved to our district in 1993 after obtaining her California teaching credential.  With over 25 years in education and a background in business, Melisse is passionately committed to assuring all students receive an exceptional and world-class educational experience that will prepare them for the ever-changing global economy.  She sees the role as a trustee as someone who should work tirelessly, with integrity, enthusiasm and professionalism, to advocate for students, their teachers, and all stakeholders.

At Rawhide Ranch, Melisse worked resolutely, with a very tight budget, to restructure the business for financial success.  As a teacher she designed innovative reading programs and creative solutions to involve local businesses to support her classroom’s enrichment.

Melisse began her first term as a school board member for the San Dieguito Union High School District in December 2018.  Melisse and her husband Jason (a R. Roger Rowe School and Torrey Pines High School alumni) have been married 28 years and reside in Rancho Santa Fe.  The Mossy’s daughters are recent graduates of Torrey Pines High School and UC Berkeley.
