2020-21 School Information
The SDUHSD 2020-2021 school year began as scheduled on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. At a July 30 Special Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees was provided with an update on our reopening planning for the 2020-21 school year and took action in order to provide a stable and consistent start of the school year. The Board voted to operate on the Distance Learning Model for the entirety of the first quarter. The Board of Trustees voted at its Board Meeting on September 17, 2020, to continue the Distance Learning Model during the second quarter. Consistent with the California Department of Public Health Mandate/Guidelines and the San Diego County Public Health Order, when the district is allowed to bring students on campus during first quarter, it will remain on the Distance Learning Model and prioritize students who receive services through Special Education, students learning English, students with inadequate learning environments, and then all other students.
This action allows our teachers to focus on developing and implementing lessons based on the Distance Learning Model and provides a consistent plan for families for the full first quarter of the 2020-21 school year. The links on this page were developed to provide further support to SDUHSD families for returning to school and the Distance Learning Model.
On Thursday, October 1, the district announced its intentions for an Expanded Reopening Committee of parents, teachers, students, district and school administrators, support personnel, board members, and medical professionals to continue to meet as we monitor the San Diego County Public Health Orders and the documentation from the California Department of Public Health.
