o   Candidates tentatively scheduled for three minutes for a presentation with follow-up questions from the Board of Trustees
o   Board action item to make a provisional appointment – Majority vote required
o   Administration of Oath of Office and seating of appointee

  • Potential petition calling for a special election [EC, § 5091]
      • 30 days from time of appointment the required number of signatures need to be submitted to the County Superintendent of Schools
      • If the County Superintendent of Schools determines the petition has the legally sufficient number of signatures, the provisional appointment is terminated pending an election
