San Dieguito Academy (SDA) is a school of choice for students. We offer our students a small school size, a challenging and relevant curriculum, adult-student connections (because of our homeroom), and a flexible (4x4) schedule. Our curriculum emphasizes the California Content Standards. Students have access to all courses, such as Advanced Placement (AP), honors, and college prep as well as to a wide variety of electives. SDA received the California Distinguished School Award in the spring of 2005 and a six-year term of accreditation in the spring of 2006.
Quality teaching requires strong professional learning communities. Collegial interchange, not isolation, must become the norm for teachers. Communities of learning can no longer be considered utopian; they must become the building blocks that establish a new foundation for America's schools.
