, located in the heart of Solana
Beach
less than a mile from the Pacific Ocean, is one of Southern California ’s
premiere middle schools. With an Academic Performance Index (API) score of
905*, Earl Warren Middle School is known for its excellent academic programs
and an expanse of extracurricular programs that meet its students’
broad range of desires and interests.
* The purpose of
the API is to measure the academic performance and growth of schools. It is a
numeric index (or scale) that ranges from a low of 200 to a high of 1000. A
school's score on the API is an indicator of a school's performance level.

Transportation – A weekday shuttle bus
which is available to intra-district students from Carmel
Valley .
Surf
PE –
Taught by a physical education teacher and overseen by a lifeguard, this
innovative class gives students credit for learning to surf and improving
their skills.
Skate PE – Students wishing to master or refine the art
of skateboarding will enjoy this physical education class.
Digital Arts – Taught from Earl
Warren Middle
School ’s computer lab, this course
provides advanced computer skills including Photoshop and Flash animation.
World Language Credit – This foreign language credit
validates what your child studies outside of the San Dieguito Union High
School District.
Japanese 1 — Students can get a jump start on Japanese
language courses offered at all of our high schools.
Math X— This elective course allows high level math
students to use the Mathematica program to explore math with technology.
Self-Paced Math — This class is ideal for students who
want to work at their own pace and enrich their mathematics’
ability.

Earl Warren
Middle School is
among four middle schools in the San Dieguito Union High School District, one
of the top-ranked school districts in California
. The
district’s traditional schools have all scored over 800 in the Academic
Performance Index (API). San Dieguito Union High School District
schools routinely earn awards of excellence in a variety of areas including
sports, music, drama, yearbook, art and journalism.
Students from local elementary schools (within the San Dieguito Unified
School District) who live outside the boundaries for Earl
Warren Middle
School are welcome to apply for intra-district
