In General Studio Art, a semester course, seventh and eighth graders introduced to basic art terms and vocabulary, create color wheels, learn the difference between 2D and 3D. This exposure creates a common core of knowledge, familiarizes the student with his/her cultural heritage, develops and refines his/her sensibilities toward the arts and enables the student to express his/her own creativity and increase his/her capacity for problem solving. In Advanced Art, another semester course, highly motivated students who are seriously interested in art create their own portfolios and are introduced to a more conceptual approach to the arts. |
