About Canyon Crest
Attendance Policies
If your student will be missing school for a religious holiday, please call the attendance office @ 858-350-0253 ext. 4046 or e-mail antoinette.stadler@sduhsd.net to excuse his/her absence for that day(s).
In order to clear absences for your child please call the attendance office at (858) 350-0253, ext. 4046 on the morning of your child's absence. Students who have not cleared their absences will be given a re-admit slip marked "truant". Students will have 48 hours to clear the absence.
Students who are regularly absent or habitually truant will be referred to the assistant principals' office. This process may include a referral to the School Attendance Review Board (SARB) and development of an attendance contract.
Please download and read this attendance Tips for Parents

Make-Up Work
Make-up work may not be given to those students who have truancies or uncleared absences. Make-up work for personal absences (verified by parent) or for missed work while on suspension will be left to the discretion of the teacher. Please email teacher directly for make-up homework assignments.
Off-Campus Pass
Please call the attendance office 24 hours in advance or have your student bring a note before school for an Off-Campus Pass. Please state your child's name, the date, time and reason you want your child released early from school. When you call the day ahead, the pass will be available for your child to pick up from the attendance office before school or at lunch. Please plan ahead. We do not deliver Off-Campus Passes to the student during class time.
Messages
Messages are not delivered to students. Canyon Crest Academy believes delivering messages is disruptive to the classroom learning environment. In the event of a real emergency, students will be allowed to leave the classroom in order to call parents. As a courtesy we have a message board available outside the attendance office so that a parent may leave a message for their student. Note: It is the student(s) responsibility to look at the message board.
Tardies
If your child is going to be late to school parent(s) or legal guardian must send a signed note or call the attendance office. Arriving more than 30 minutes late without a note or parent/legal guardian phone call constitutes a truancy.
