Facilities Planning

The Planning and Financial Management Department is responsible for the District’s internal auditing and planning program including Mello Roos bond and tax collection for facility project funding.  The department conducts examinations of internal controls and recommends improvements to financial systems and to operational processes.  Planning functions include the development and update of the master plan, analyzing enrollment trends, identification of funding sources, and coordination of land acquisition, construction and modernization activities.  The department works closely with the district’s architect and site staff to ensure that there are adequate school and support facilities to house and educate students of the district.

Developer Fees

Developer fees (also known as school fees) are handled in the Business Services office, suite 201, from 8:30 – 3:30. Monday through Friday.

We collect for Rancho Santa Fe Elementary District, and in most cases, Solana Beach Elementary District and Del Mar Union Elementary District.

Currently the combined statutory fees for both the high school and elementary districts are $2.97 per square foot of livable space for residential and $0.47 per square foot for commercial/industrial.  Livable space is determined by the building agency.  Residential square footage of 500 square feet or less is exempt from developer fees.

Payment is by check only, and if we are collecting for one of the elementary districts listed above, a separate check payable to the elementary district is required.

To give you specific fee information regarding your property or to schedule an appointment, please call (760)-753-6491 x 5514 or 5580.  Please provide us with the property address, parcel number (if known) and the square footage.
