Online Credit Recovery – La Costa Canyon High School

The Program 

  • Current 11th and 12th  grade only, for students who may not / did not graduate
  • English, Math, Social Science, Science
  • May complete up to 20 credits
  • Available to all students, including Special Education
  • Individualized for each student
  • 20 days (June 17 – July 15) no school July 4.

 

Extended School Year (ESY) - La Costa Canyon High School

The Program 

  • Special Education (required by statute)
  • Severe Needs (invitation only)
  • No Credits earned
  • Teachers and Instructional Assistants work with students, per IEP
  • Individualized for each student
  • 20 days (June 17 - July 15) no school July 4.

 

      HS Fundamental Special Education Credit Recovery - La Costa Canyon HS

The Program 

  • 9th-12th Fundamental students who failed a course(s)
  • 8th  grade Fundamental Physical Science
  • English, Math, SS, and Science
  • May complete up to 10 credits
  • Regular ed. teachers, 1-2 case managers
  • Individualized & modified through Edgenuity software
  • No transportation
  • 20 Days (June 17 – July 15) no school July 4.

 

Special Education Reading Intervention - La Costa Canyon HS

The Program 

  • 7th-12th grade students presently receiving district based 1:1 reading intervention
  • Read 180 software delivered 5x weekly in small group and 1:1
  • Support reading strategies, decoding, work skills, vocab development and oral fluency
  • No transportation unless concurrently enrolled in ESY
  • 20 days (June 17- - July 15) no school July 4.

 

English as a Second Language (ESL) – La Costa Canyon High School

The Program 

  • Separate MS and HS classes
  • Focus on supporting ELD 1, 2, and 3 students
  • Skills based instruction: Focus on developing basic literacy skills and language development
  • Students will earn 5 elective credits upon successful completion of program
  • Meets the “Maintenance of Skills” requirement, as defined through Title III
  • 20 Days (June 17 – July 15) no school July 4.

  • All Summer Math Bridge Courses are non-credit courses - no grades or credit will be earned for completion.

  • Some bridges will require a student to pass an end of course assessment in order to enroll in the next course - see descriptions below.

  • This bridge is designed for 7th graders currently in IMAE who are ready to transition to IMB in 8th grade.

  • This is a mandatory bridge meaning that a student must successfully complete the bridge to be eligible to enroll in IMB as an 8th grader.

  • This bridge includes an end of course assessment which students must pass in order to enroll in IMB.

  • No course credit is earned through this bridge.

  • This bridge is a traditional course requiring class attendance and homework.

  • The class sessions will meet from 8:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Mon-Fri.

  • The bridge will begin on Monday, June 13 and end on Friday, July 15 (Five weeks, 24 total days, no class on July 4).

  • The location of the classes will be based upon enrollment - we hope to offer a location in both the north & south.

  • Students missing more than 12 hours of class time will be dropped and will not be eligible to take end of course assessments.

IMBE to IM1 Bridge

  • This bridge is designed for 8th graders currently in IMBE who are ready to transition to IM1 in 9th grade.

Earl Waren MS Multi-Purpose Room

  • This bridge is designed for students currently in IM1 who want to enroll in IM2H next year.

  • Due to the difference in the content between IM1 & IM1H, this bridge is mandatory for any student wishing to move from IM1 to IM2H.

  • This bridge includes an end of course assessment which students must pass in order to enroll in IM2H.

  • No course credit is earned through this bridge.

  • This bridge includes both independent study work as well as mandatory class sessions.

  • This bridge will include homework.

  • The class sessions will begin on Monday, June 13 and end on Thursday, June 30.

  • The bridge will meet from 8:15a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on M, T, & Th of each week.

  • There are mandatory independent study assignments students will complete after the conclusion of the class meetings (after June 30).

  • The location of the classes will be based upon enrollment - we hope to offer a location in both the north & south.

  • There will be two dates on which students can take the end of course assessment (July 15 or August 12).

  • Students missing more than 4 hours of class time will be dropped and will not be eligible to take end of course assessments.

IM2 to IM3H Bridge

  • This bridge is designed for students currently in IM2 who want to enroll in IM3H next year.

  • Due to the difference in the content between IM1 & IM1H and IM2 & IM2H, this bridge is mandatory for any student wishing to move from IM2 to IM3H.

  • This bridge includes two assessments which students must pass in order to enroll in IM3H. One assessment covers content from IM1H & the other covers content from IM2H.

  • This bridge is a traditional course requiring class attendance and will include homework.

  • The class sessions will begin on Monday, June 13 and end on Wednesday, July 13 (Five weeks, 22 total days,no class on July 4).

  • The bridge will meet from 8:15a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Mon-Fri.

  • The location of the classes will be based upon enrollment - we hope to offer a location in both the north & south.

  • Students missing more than 12 hours of class time will be dropped and will not be eligible to take end of course assessments.
