Congratulations Pacific Trails Middle School for your time and effort in participating in our 2nd Annual Codechella: Coding Competition – this regional event was hosted at San Diego City College on Saturday, June 3rd! The goal of this regional event was to provide students with an engaging and meaningful work-based learning opportunity, to practice their coding skills and learn more about the Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) pathway.
Over 65 middle and high school students from the region participated in this coding competition, the students were able to showcase their computer science and high-tech skills in a fun and innovative way! The students worked in teams of two to program the dancing Aldebaran NAO Robots and the maze racing Spheros. This regional event was supported by many fantastic educators, industry professionals, college and community volunteers.

CTE benefits students by providing them with a true motivation to learn and through it students begin to see the relevance of core subjects such as math, science and language arts. We like to say that CTE provides students with a reason to learn and the power to earn!
